To ask the Secretary of State for Social Security what other EU countries have funded pension schemes. [27616]

Mr. Lilley

All other EU countries have some funded pension provision. The UK has more assets invested in pension funds than the rest of Europe put together. Many EU countries are taking steps to develop further their funded pension provision.
