To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department what were the totals of compensation paid to the victims of crime in each of the past 10 years; and what he expects it to be in each of the next three years.

The amounts of compensation paid under the criminal injuries compensation scheme in the last 10 years, and the forecast expenditure in the next three years are as follows:
