§ Mr. Kynoch[holding answer 7 February 1995]: Questions about Scottish vocational qualifications achieved on Government training schemes are an operational matter for Scottish Enterprise and Highlands and Islands Enterprise. I have asked the chairmen of these bodies to write to the hon. Member with the information requested.
§ Mr. WorthingtonTo ask the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will make a statement about how and to what extent the income of training providers on Government training schemes is dependent on the achievement of vocational qualifications.
§ Mr. Kynoch[holding answer 7 February 1995]: For youth and adult training programmes, between 25 and 40 per cent of Scottish Enterprise and Highlands and Islands Enterprise funding to local enterprise companies is payable on the achievement of positive outcomes, including vocational qualifications. The funding of training providers is, however, a commercial contractual matter between them and the local enterprise companies.
