To ask the President of the Board of Trade (1) if he will list the dates since 1985 when Wickman Harrison applied for export licences for the sale of machine tools to the Nasr, Badr, Shuala, Aquabin Nafi and Al-Am facilities in Iraq; [5597]

(2) if he will list the dates since 1985 when Philips Scientific applied for export licences for the sale of an atomic absorption spectrometer to the Tuwaitha and Hutteen facilities in Iraq; [5598]

(3) if he will list the dates since 1985 when Avesta Steels Ltd. applied for an export licence for the sale of non-corrosive steel to the State Organisation for Technical Industries in Iraq; [5604]

(4) if he will list the dates since 1985 when Atlas Equipment Ltd. applied for an export licence to sell nuclear triggers to the Al-Qaqaa General Establishment in Iraq; [5606]

(5) if he will list the dates since 1985 when Astra Holdings applied for an export licence for the sale of munitions to the Huteen and Nasr facilities in Iraq; [5605]

(6) if he will list the dates since 1985 when Cincinati Milacron Ltd. applied for export licences for the sale of machine tools to the Nasr, Badr, Shuala, Aquabin-Nafi and Al-Am facilities in Iraq; [5603]

(7) if he will list the dates since 1985 when Norman Rushworth Ltd. applied for export licences for the sale of machine tools to the Nasr, Badr, Shuala, Aquabin Nafi and Al-Am facilities in Iraq; [5599]

(8) if he will list the dates since 1985 when Gatewood Engineering Ltd. applied for an export licence for the sale of earth moving equipment to the Hutteen and Nasr facilities in Iraq; [5600]

[holding answer 14 December 1995]: Successive Administrations have not routinely disclosed such information, which is covered by commercial confidentiality, unless there is a clear public interest in doing so. Her Majesty's Customs and Excise is the investigating authority for breaches of export controls, and if the hon. Member has any evidence of such breaches he should inform customs.
