HC Deb 14 December 1995 vol 268 cc769-70W
Mr. Cousins

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence what advice was issued to women in the armed forces serving in the Gulf between 1990 and 1991 as to pregnancy and childbirth in relation to NAPS tablets; and what medical considerations underlay this. [5475]

Mr. Soames

No official advice was issued during the Gulf war concerning the taking of nerve agent pretreatment set tablets in relation to pregnancy and childbirth. Pyridostigmine bromide, the main ingredient of NAPS tablets, has no known contra-indications for pregnancy.
