These range from major workshop facilities such as those at Donnington and Bovington to small offices arranging the repair of equipment under contract by industry. The figures are as at 30 September 1995, which is the most recent date for which centrally held figures are available.As a result of the end of the Cold War and a reduction in the perceived threat, and in common with other elements of the Ministry of Defence, the Agency is in the process of rationalising its operations and reducing in size. This is expected to lead to the closure of RAF Carlisle, RAF Quedgeley and RAF North Luffenham over the next 3 years. In addition, the number of personnel in the Agency will reduce to approximately 2,400 uniformed and 5,400 civilian staff by 1999.I hope that this information meets your requirements.Attachment:

I am replying to your Question to the Secretary of State for Defence about the principal locations of my Agency and the numbers of staff employed at each location.The Defence Accounts Agency operates from five locations in the UK: two in Bath; and one each at Cheadle Hulme, Liverpool and 485W Worcester. The numbers of staff currently employed at each location are as follows:
