§ Mrs. GillanThe public expenditure settlement provides funding of some £23 million in 1996–97 to support technology and language colleges. This will support the 107 schools already designated as technology or language colleges, and around 60 schools which will be newly designated before or during 1996–97. The newly designated schools will be eligible for additional capital and recurrent funding in 1996–97 totalling some £11 million.
