HC Deb 24 April 1995 vol 258 c372W
Mr. Barry Jones

To ask the Secretary of State for Wales what plans he has to visit the Alyn and Deeside district council office to discuss the future of chief officers and their staffs consequent upon the 1996 reform of local government; and if he will make a statement. [20342]

Mr. Gwilym Jones

My right hon. Friend and I have no such plans.

The future of staff depends mainly on decisions to be taken by the new authorities. The Staff Commission for Wales has a duty to advise the Secretary of State on the steps necessary to safeguard the interests of staff.
