HC Deb 30 November 1994 vol 250 c701W
Dr. Marek

To ask the President of the Board of Trade how much money has been raised by(a) capital receipts arising from the reductions in the numbers of Crown post offices in the last 15 years and (b) for savings in revenue expenditure consequent on the reductions.

Mr. Charles Wardle

The reduction in Crown post offices since April 1989, largely due to the conversion programme of Crown post offices to agency status, had by March 1994 yielded £5.0 million in capital receipts and £20.7 million in annually recurring revenue savings.
