HC Deb 22 November 1994 vol 250 c128W
Mr. Rooker

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport what proposals he has to reduce the number of vehicle registration offices.

Mr. Norris

Fundamental changes to the way in which vehicles are registered and licensed locally by the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency's vehicle registration offices and the London enforcement office were announced by the DVLA's chief executive on 12 August. These changes mean that the current network would be gradually reduced and eventually closed by 1997. A DVLA press notice—No 23/94—was issued containing the details.
