To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department on how many occasions in the last 30 years(a) the United States Government have applied for the extradition of individuals from the United Kingdom and (b) the United Kingdom has applied to the United States for the extradition of individuals to face charges in the United Kingdom; and how many of these were refused in each case.

In the last 30 years the United States Government have made 301 such requests to the United Kingdom, of which 37 have been refused. Over the same period, the United Kingdom has made 108 requests to the United States, of which four have been refused.
