§ Mr. NorrisThe base cost of the crossrail project was estimated in April 1993 to be £1,703 million at March 1990 prices, which is equivalent to £2,049 million at current values. The latter figure includes a sum of £259 million for property purchases and compensation for loss and disturbance to property owners in accordance with existing legislation.
