asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they have committed the Royal Navy, or other United Kingdom forces, to collaborate with the United States farces, in preparations for the "large scale theatre conflict" which the US Assistant Secretary of Defense for Strategy and Resources has stated is "at the very heart of our [US] strategy", the Persian Gulf and Korea being considered "the most likely of the 'major regional contingency' scenarios".

We have made no such commitment, although we keep in close touch with US colleagues on all matters of mutual interest.
