In the light of the Answer given to Lord Stoddart of Swindon [H. L. Deb., 7th February 1994, col. WA 113] that information as to deaths in office of Members of the European Parliament is not kept centrally, where the information is kept; and by what method the European Parliament is informed of the death of one of their number.
Earl FerrersThe European Parliament's Bureau are normally informed of the death in office of an MEP38WA by the political group of the deceased Member. The President of the Parliament announces the death at the next Plenary session, and the announcement and tributes from the leaders of the political groups are published in the minutes. In months where there are no Plenary sessions, news of the death is published in the European Parliament's Bulletin.
