§ Mrs. Dunwoody
To ask the Secretary of State for Transport what is the timetable for the introduction of the driving theory test; and which bodies will be prevented from bidding for the work associated with administering the test.

§ Mr. Key
The driving theory test will be introduced by 1st July 1996. We intend to contract out the operation of this test, but decisions have not yet been taken about the conditions of tendering for the contract.
