§ Mr. StewartA grass-surfaced airstrip was constructed by Cumbernauld development corporation in the 1950s. Information about the costs of construction and minor improvements in the period to 1986 could be obtained only at disproportionate cost. In 1987 the corporation constructed an asphalt runway, apron and taxi-ways, hangarage and terminal buildings at a cost of £2.27 million, £0.97 million of which was provided by the European regional development fund.
