To ask the Parliamentary Secretary, Lord Chancellor's Department if the Government's White Paper on the law on privacy will address the question of the confidentiality of house sale prices; and if he intends to protect such confidentiality.

Mr. John M. Taylor
The consultation document on the law on privacy, which was issued by the Lord Chancellor's Department on 30 July 1993, did not refer to house sale prices. None of the 122 consultees mentioned it and it will not be specifically referred to in the White Paper.
