HC Deb 04 February 1994 vol 236 c968W
Mr. Boateng

To ask the Parliamentary Secretary, Lord Chancellor's Department (1) what plans there are to enable information about the price paid for a house to be made publicly available; and how the information is to be limited;

(2) what, and how many representations, he received before formulating plans to make the price paid for a house public knowledge.

Mr. John M. Taylor

There are no current plans for such information to be made publicly available. A consultation document recently issued by Her Majesty's Land Registry invites views on whether to restore the practice of entering the price paid for a property on to the public land register.
