§ Mr. ForthThe amounts transferred from local authority finance to Ofsted were £19 million in 1993–94 and a further £37 million in 1994–95. There are no proposals for further transfers in 1995–96. The phased transfer reflects the gradual transfer of functions from local authorities to Ofsted.
