To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, pursuant to his answer of 22 November,Official Report, column 121, if he will list the approaches set out in occupational health notice 93/3 which deal with sickness absence.

Mr. Norris

The information is as follows:

  1. (i) sponsorship of health promotion activities; and
  2. (ii) a review of the organisation of work.

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, pursuant to his answer of 22 November,Official Report, column 121, if he will list the agencies which are currently implementing the approaches set out in the occupational health notice 93/3; and if the Central Transport Group is implementing these approaches.

All agencies of the Department of Transport and the Central Transport Group have under way programmes or initiatives which fall within both approaches set out in the OHS notice.
