HL Deb 20 April 1994 vol 554 cc15-6WA
The Earl of Kimberley

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Why the pharmacy contractors in England and Wales have only been offered a 2 per cent. increase in their remuneration for 1994–95, when a 3 per cent. increase, recommended by the review bodies, has been agreed for doctors, dentists and nurses.

The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Department of Health (Baroness Cumberlege)

Careful consideration has been given to the offer to be made to pharmacists for their remuneration for 1994–95. The Government believe that the 2 per cent. offer that has been made to community pharmacists is a fair one and takes full account of all the relevant circumstances.
