§ Mr. Jack[holding answer 20 October 1993]: During the 1992–93 financial year, £80,314.80 was spent on official hospitality, including £20,336 for ministerial hospitality.
The principal items included hospitality:
to overseas officials and other visitors, including, for example visitors from EC organisations and from other member states; to industry representatives, trade associations and professional bodies;in the course of work being undertaken for the Department by individuals or groups of individuals in an advisory capacity; andat agricultural and trade shows.
