Responsibility for this matter is delegated to the Intervention Board Executive Agency and I have asked the chief executive to reply to the hon. Gentleman direct.

Letter to Mr. Eric Martlew from Guy Stapleton, dated 25 October 1993: The Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food has asked me to reply to your priority written Parliamentary Question tabled for answer on 25 October 1993: To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, if she will list the amounts in pounds sterling paid out in the United Kingdom on export refunds in each of the last six years by product, and what were the amounts; and if she will make a statement. The export refunds paid out in the United Kingdom and quantities exported in respect of those refunds paid are detailed in the attached schedule. The figures have been obtained from the EAGGF Accounts, for the last six available years, which are submitted to the EC Commission on an annual basis to support the funding claim. I am sending a copy of this letter to the House of Commons Library and the Public Information Office.
