The Forestry Commission has been an active participant in the work of the joint committee on forest technology, management and training, although the United Kingdom is not currently represented on the steering committee. The objectives and operation of the joint committee are being reviewed at present by the parent bodies, including the European Forestry Commission of the Food and Agriculture Organisation, one of whose vice-chairmen is an official of the British Forestry Commission.
