HC Deb 29 November 1993 vol 233 c295W
Mr. John Marshall

To ask the Attorney-General if he will make a statement about progress under the War Crimes Act 1991.

The Attorney-General

The Crown Prosecution Service is presently considering interim reports from the Metropolitan police relating to several individuals and further inquiries are being made. Inquiries are not yet complete and the question of possible prosecution cannot be considered until they are concluded. In accordance with the requirements of the War Crimes Act 1991, my consent would be sought in any case where the Crown Prosecution Service considers that proceedings are appropriate.
