Mrs. Fyfe

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland what recent communications he has had with Mr. Bill Fyfe, chairman of Greater Glasgow health board; and if he will make a statement.

My noble and learned Friend met health board chairmen, including Mr. Fyfe, on 5 November. In addition, my right hon. Friend spoke to Mr. Fyfe by telephone on Wednesday 24 November.

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland which firms have been chosen to do public relations work for Greater Glasgow health board; and what has been the total value of this contract.

[holding answer 23 November 1993]: Firms employed by Greater Glasgow health board in 1992–93 and 1993–94 (to 31 October 1993) are Faulds, Michael Kelly Associates Limited, Proscot, Alan Clark Associates and PR Consultants (Scotland), with a total spend of £534,954.40 in 1992–93 and £168,624.38 in 1993–94 to date.
