To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will make a statement on tax levels.

General government tax and royalty receipts are expected to be £166.5 billion in 1993–94.

To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer how much money is expected to be raised from(a) income tax, (b) corporation tax and (c) VAT in the current year.

The forecast yields from these taxes in 1993–94, set out in table 1.2 of the 1993–94 "Financial Statement and Budget Report", are as follows:

  1. (a) £57.5 billion
  2. (b) £14.6 billion
  3. (c) £39.9 billion

Updated estimates will be presented in the Budget on 30 November.
