1993–94 44,357 6.4
1994–95 45,353 4.4

Note. The projected fall in percentage for 1994–95 is due to the drop in the rebate from 5.8 per cent. to 4.8 per cent. from April 1993, the ending of the 2 per cent. incentive payment from April 1993 and the onset of the 1 per cent. additional rebate for personal pension holders aged 30 or over from April 1993. These changes are not reflected in the amounts paid out of the National Insurance fund until 1994–95 year.
