HC Deb 04 November 1993 vol 231 c315W
Mr. Boateng

To ask the Attorney-General if he will make it his policy in the restructuring of the Crown Prosecution Service that it should not result in the use of legally qualified personnel in purely administrative or supervisory functions.

The Attorney-General

A primary aim of the Crown Prosecution Service restructuring is to ensure that the skills of its lawyers are concentrated on those tasks that require the attention of legally qualified staff.

A small number of lawyers may be employed for limited periods in administrative functions where this will contribute to their career development or where their experience as lawyers can make a helpful contribution to the management, administration or recruitment of legally qualified staff.
