To ask the Secretary of State for Health what is the number of secure units for young people in the areas covering the Greater London area.

Mr. Bowis

There is a national network of 295 secure places to which all local authorities have access. London boroughs provide 41 of these places—11 for girls and 30 for boys—in five separate secure units.
