To ask the right hon. Member for Selby, as representing the Church Commissioners what steps are being taken by the Church Commissioners to institute procedures which minimise risks to their investments.

Two recent reports on the Church Commissioners make a number of specific recommendations about this. The Commissioners have already acted on some of these recommendations and action on the remainder will follow as soon as possible. The Commissioners have prepared a note for General Synod about these reports and their response to them and I have arranged for a copy of the note, and of the reports themselves, to be placed in the Library.
