§ Mr. PikeTo ask the Secretary of State for the Environment how many housing association properties have been built in each local authority area in Lancashire over the last three years for(a) general need and (b) sheltered housing; and how many properties have been acquired by housing associations and renovated for renting over the same period.
§ Sir George Young[holding answer 22 October 1993]: Estimates of the total numbers of housing association housebuilding completions within each local authority area in Lancashire are shown in the publication "Local Housing Statistics", table 1. Figures for 1990 are in issue No. 101 and for 1991 and 1992 are in issue No. 105.
The Department collects information about specialised housing for the elderly, including sheltered dwellings. Figures of sheltered housebuilding completions for housing associations within individual local authority areas are also shown in "Local Housing Statistics". Annual data for 1990 and 1991 are in issues Nos. 99 (table 10) and 102 (table 11) respectively. Figures for 1992 are to be published shortly in issue No. 106.
Figures for numbers of housing association dwellings which were renovated with local authority loans are shown in "Local Housing Statistics". Figures for 1990 are in issue No. 101 (table 4) and for 1991 and 1992 in issue No. 105 (table 3). The figures for dwellings renovated with funding from the Housing Corporation are not readily available.
