To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs when a decision is to be taken on an application from Mrs. Sikandari Jan and her daughter Azra Bibi Khan made to the United Kingdom post in Islamabad, Ref. IMM/B4075, in October 1992 to enter the United Kingdom; and if he will make a statement.

The high commission is awaiting confirmation of an offer of employment for Mr. Khan, the sponsor of Mrs. Sikandari Jan. They wrote to his potential employers to request this on 16 November 1992, and have since reminded Mr. Khan of the importance of this information, but have to date received no reply.
