To ask the Secretary of State for Defence what equipment has been supplied by Northern Engineering Industries for the shiplift project and the syncrolift, Faslane.

Northern Engineering Industries supplied the syncrolift, control systems and five cranes.

Mr. McFall

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence how much has been paid to firms contracted to establish the safety case for the Faslane Trident shiplift.

Mr. Aitken

Expenditure to date is estimated at £20 million.
