§ Mr. ClaphamTo ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will call on the G7 countries at their summit in July to support a financial plan for sub-Saharan Africa.
§ Mr. Lennox-Boyd[holding answer 12 May 1993]: We are working to ensure that the developing countries, including those in Africa, will be among the subjects covered at the G7 summit, especially as the summit will take place in the run-up to the conference on Africa to be hosted by the Japanese Government in October. The needs of sub-Saharan Africa have a high priority for the British aid programme.
