asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they will make a special offer of aid to the transitional government of Eritrea in order to repair the British made cranes in the port of Massawa.

We have not been asked to help repair the cranes in Massawa. We have, however, contributed £50,000 to an emergency UN appeal launched on 17th April for repair work in Massawa, including port facilities following the recent severe hailstorms.
