HC Deb 25 March 1993 vol 221 c711W
Mr. John Marshall

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment when he expects the report of the drinking water inspectorate into the outbreak of cryptosporidiosis in north Humberside to be published; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Maclean

I am pleased to annouce that the report to Mr. R. J. Vincent MSc CChem, FRSC, MIWEM, of the drinking water inspectorate, into the outbreak of cyptosporidiosis in north Humberside in December 1989 to January 1990, has been published today. The report draws conclusions and makes comments about the operation of the Barmby water treatment works, and identifies five main lessons for the water industry in general which will help to protect water supplies in future. Copies of the report have been placed in the Libraries of both Houses.
