HC Deb 19 March 1993 vol 221 c408W
Mrs. Ann Taylor

To ask the Secretary of State for Education what considerations led him to alter the proposed terms of service of the chairman of the School Curriculum and Assessment Authority.

Mr. Forth

In a reply to my hon. Friend the Member for Canterbury (Mr. Brazier) my right hon. Friend informed the House on 4 December 1992,Official Report columns 397–98, that management consultants had been appointed to help draw up a list of appropriate candidates with the qualities and skills necessary to a successful chairman for the School Curriculum and Assessment Authority. The terms and conditions of service for the post were determined in the light of the results of that search and of the functions proposed for the authority.
