HL Deb 10 March 1993 vol 543 cc61-2WA
Lord Ross of Newport

asked Her Majesty's Government:

What advice, if any, is being given to local authorities facing demands for social housing from applicants who can show they are HIV positive.

Lord Strathclyde

The Department of the Environment, in conjunction with the Department of Health, commissioned a detailed study on the housing aspects of AIDS and HIV infection in April 1991. We expect that one of the outputs from this research will be "best practice" guidance for local authorities in dealing with applications for housing from people with AIDS/HIV. The report of the research is expected to be available later this year.
