HL Deb 10 March 1993 vol 543 cc60-1WA
Lord Williams of Elvel

asked Her Majesty's Government:

What planning powers exist for regulating the siting of a motor vessel converted into a floating heliport, unanchored but held on station by water jets, to be situated in the London area of the River Thames.

Lord Strathclyde

There are no planning powers specific only to motor vessels converted into floating heliports, as distinct from other development proposals. The elected members of the relevant local planning authorities are responsible for dealing with planning matters. It would be for those authorities to consider what procedures should apply in individual cases.
