To ask the Secretary of State for Education what studies he has made of other educational systems in use in the EC.

My right hon. Friend gathers a range of information through the regular contacts of Ministers and officials with their counterparts in other EC countries, through detailed studies by Her Majesty's inspectorate of schools, and through the EC EURYDICE network for the exchange of information between policy makers about he educational systems of member states.
