HL Deb 28 June 1993 vol 547 c21WA
Lord Sefton of Garston

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they have done anything to ensure that the manufacture of the 125 Aircraft remains in the United Kingdom, and if so, what.

The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Department of Trade and Industry (Baroness Denton of Wakefield)

The proposed sale by British Aerospace of Corporate Jets Ltd. is currently being considered by the Director General of Fair Trading. It would not be appropriate to comment on the details of the sale in advance of the Director General's advice, but DTI and the Welsh Office have raised the future of Corporate Jets' UK facilities with British Aerospace.
