HL Deb 15 June 1993 vol 546 c76WA
Lord Hylton

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether the United Nations Protection Force (UNPROFOR) will reopen Tuzla airport and use it for bringing in humanitarian supplies; and if not, why not.

The Minister of State, Foreign and Commonwealth Office (Baroness Chalker of Wallasey)

The possibility of reopening Tuzla airfield for humanitarian relief supplies is kept under close review. However, the expert advice is that, at present, there would be unacceptable risks to the aircraft and people who might use the airfield which is in the artillery range of some of the warring parties.
