HC Deb 07 June 1993 vol 226 cc45-6W
Mrs. Lait

To ask the Secretary of State for Health, pursuant to her answer of 12 May,Official Report, column 486, what consideration the Advisory Committee on NHS Drugs has given to drugs that have not been licensed by the Medicines Control Agency; and what mechanism will be used under the selected list scheme for the provision to NHS patients of skin products that do not require a product licence under the Medicines Act 1968.

Dr. Mawhinney

The Advisory Committee is free to consider all drugs, including those which have not been licensed by the Medicines Control Agency. It will ensure that drugs to meet all real clinical needs can be provided as economically as possible under the national health service.
