§ Mr. Jack[holding answer 26 July 1993]: BNFL has applied to Her Majesty's inspectorate of pollution and the Ministry for permission to use natural and depleted uranium to test the THORP plant at Sellafield. A copy of the announcement that we made on 22 July, together with HMIP, on the granting of variations to BNFL's existing authorisations to discharge liquid and gaseous radioactive waste on or after the 12 August 1993 to test THORP can be found in the Library of the House.
