HC Deb 27 July 1993 vol 229 cc857-8W
Mr. Churchill

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department in how many cases during the last 12 months a deportation order has been signed by the Home Secretary but removal not affected due to the provisions of EC legislation.

Mr. Charles Wardle

Where it is decided not to effect the removal of someone who is the subject of a deportation order, normal practice is to revoke the order. There have been no revocations in the last 12 months arising from the application of EC law.
