HC Deb 27 July 1993 vol 229 c858W
Mr. Churchill

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many people have been granted working holidaymaker status in each of the last five years; if he will give the breakdown by nationality; how many people granted holidaymaker status in each of the last five years did not leave the United Kingdom at the end of their conditions; and on what basis they sought to remain.

Mr. Charles Wardle

Reliable data on admissions of working holidaymakers are available only from 1 May 1990, and were given in the reply to a question from the hon. Member for Nottingham, North (Mr. Allen) on 14 June at columns449–50. I will write to my hon. Friend as soon as possible with the available after-entry data on working holidaymakers.

Mr. Watson

Mr. Charles Wardle

I refer the hon. Member to the reply given to a question from the hon. Member for Nottingham, North (Mr. Allen) on 14 June at columns449–50.
