asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether the Chairman of the Construction Deregulation Task Force is also the chairman of a construction company which has given donations to a political party.

Mr. Spackman is Chairman and Managing Director of Bovis Construction Ltd. The company's latest annual accounts indicate a number of charitable donations but none to political parties. During the year to 31st December 1992 Bovis' parent company P&O made a donation of £100,000 to the Conservative party which is reported in P&O's annual report for 1992.
