Further to Mr. Alistair Burt's commitment (H.C.Deb, 5th July 1993, col. 11) to "providing what incentives we can for mothers to go back to work where appropriate", whether they will study the proposals in the recent publication Becoming a Breadwinner by Sally Holterman, published by the Daycare Trust.

The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Department of Social Security (Lord Henley)

We are studying with interest the recommendations in the report as part of the constant review of the incentives in the benefit system.
