HL Deb 15 July 1993 vol 548 c25WA
Lord Kennet

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether their Written Answer of June 15th concerning the appraisal of "combined and cumulative impacts of several road schemes" indicates that only schemes that are "initiated and progressed" together and at the same time are to be so appraised, whether any such "appraisals" have yet taken place; and whether one is to take place in the context of the M.4-M.25 schemes.

The Earl of Caithness

Assessment of combined and cumulative impacts of several road schemes is a difficult process and can only be carried out where practical. But in the case of all individual road improvement schemes, the basis on which appraisals have been carried out will be clearly shown in the supporting documentation at the time proposals are published.
